Alright I’ve asked this question many times and got nothing. I need an answer from an educated person or someone who has went through this. Here it goes bit by bit. Sunday March 21 my daughter was sick. She puked all over me while I was holding her. She’s 2. We took her to the doctor and they said a bad stomach bug was going around. Ok Tuesday March 23 I started getting sick. I had burps that were so nasty and foul smelling. I then started getting diarrhea followed by one bout of nausea. I slept through the night and felt better the next day. Wednesday and Thursday no problems at all. Friday March 26 I went to dinner with my mother. We had Mexican. That evening the nasty burps returned followed by the diarrhea and the vomiting til 3 in the morning. I slept on it again and on Saturday I felt better just weak and tired. That night I had some fresh squeezed lemonade. It was acidy let me tell ya. Sunday March 28 sick again with diarrhea mainly. That night pain in my stomach followed by vomiting. Went to the ER. Tests taken were blood sample, urine sample, stool sample, belly X-Rays. Doctor said it appeared I had an ileus (bowel obstruction) and they admitted me to the hospital for IV fluids. Stayed overnight. Next day on liquid diet. At red jello had bowel movement that was orange worried me showed to nurse nothing said. Doctor came in and discharged me. Said I had gastroenteritis. He said he looked at the X-Ray couldn’t see where they had seen an ileus. Said nothing about my stool sample said my blood work showed my white count was up a little bit. Told me to take it easy and stay on liquids for a few days. Left hospital. Since then only diarrhea in the morning normal in color rest of the day small narrow stools normal in color. Feeling of bloating in stomach. I’m worried they missed something like colon cancer. Not sure if the X-Rays or the blood work or the stool sample would’ve showed something. Don’t think they would’ve sent me home with something majorly wrong. No discomfort. I’m 27 years old. I do not have a history of colon cancer in my family. I do not smoke or drink or take any medications. I am not on antibiotics. I had no fever at all. I’ve changed my diet no sodas no acidy foods little greasy foods. No leafy stuff except for spinach (I’m stupid) once. Doesn’t hurt to go and no sign of blood either. Only symptoms are narrow stools, loose stools, bloating feeling. No gas no foul smelling burps anymore. Could I just have a long lasting gastroenteritis or should I be worried. No insurance spent a fortune to stay overnight at hospital so going to a doc is almost out of the question. I just want to see if anybody else has these digestive problems. I’m really worried the most about the narrow stools but that could just be from the swelling of the intestines from the gastroenteritis.
