Irregular Bowel Habits. Gastroenterologist?

I’m 26 and my bowel movements have been irregular all my life
I’ve had stools where it was flat, thin (not pencil thin), normal, diarrhea or just loose an easily broken. I will be seeing an gastroenterologist for the first time. I have a family history of stomach cancer (only grandfather) but no colon cancer. I have a feeling he’s going to tell me that I’m too young for a colonoscopy and I’m out of the age range for colon cancer. During that visit with the gastroenterologist can I actually request a simple colon exam that could be done right there? Or do I have to take another day off to schedule these colon exams (colonoscopy, etc…)

Help I have bloating and constipation really bad!

bad constipation

It sucks because I do have IBS, and I’m used to having diarrhea.. but not now I have this and I do not know what to do! what can I take!!!!!
I’m so bloated that its even hard to breath… and I cannot drink water because of this… what can I do…
all I ate was a bowl of cereal of special K , and water! all day! and its 3:00 here.

What kind of bowl movements are you suppose to have using a colon cleanser?

loose stools colon

It says on the back to stop using if you get diarrhea or loose stools!! Uh….that’s all I have when I use a colon cleanser! And I go to the bathroom about once every 1-2 hours (depending). SO…..HUH?!
And if you need to know I take 4 pills 3 times a day because that is what it says to do.

Baby dropping = bad constipation? And antibiotics question?

bad constipation

I haven’t had constipation issues this whole pregnancy, but all of a sudden I feel terrible. The baby’s head is really low (as of my OB appt two days ago) and without getting too graphic, my stools have been almost non-existent. When I can go a little bit, they’re super skinny, as if something is impeding their progress. I’m assuming it’s the baby. Will it get so backed up that it’ll have to loosen up at one point? I’m desperately wishing for that pre-labor diarrhea, LOL.

So now, I don’t know if it’s because of the back-up or what, but I feel pretty nauseated and off. I also have a fever and bad cough due to what could be bronchitis–my husband was diagnosed with it Monday and now I need to get that checked out.

I’m 37w2d and 2cm/50%. The baby is engaged. This is my third son. I also found out I was Group B positive, which was a surprise. The doctor has been talking this whole time about induction at 38 weeks if everything was favorable due to bleeding issues, etc. If they put me on antibiotics (if this is indeed bronchitis) would that then conflict with the antibiotics given during labor for the group B? Could a different antibiotic for the bronchitis cause a disruption with the strep bacteria and cause a problem?

I plan on asking my doctor all these questions, but I just feel so completely bleh right now. I desperately want to go into labor. I’m just hoping to go in later armed with information so I can ask the right questions.

How much Fiber does a cat really need?

I have looked online trying to find out how much Fiber a cat really needs. But my 1and half year old over-weight but very active and energetic, unneutered(temporarily) male, Colby, has digestive problems. He has loose, bloody(bright-red, mucus), very foul poo, and a lot of bloating. He drinks a lot of water, partially from obsession and partially from the diarrhea. I live with four other cats and I allows know when he’s used the litterbox, it’s that bad sometimes. Through research I’ve found it’s probally to do with his colon. So I’ve been trying to boost his fiber, which was one of the online suggestions. I was using flax seed mixed into a mash and smeared with his food. And it did reduce the odor, bleeding, and loose quality of his stool. But he would vomit all of his dinner after. I stopped the flax seed and the vomiting stopped. But his other symptoms returned. I am again looking for a way of increasing his fiber in a way that won’t make him vomit but that he will eat. Please help

Could my symptoms I’m experiencing be colon cancer?

loose stools colon

During the last month I have noticed changes in my bowel habits. Normally I have had at least one bowel movement a day and nice formed stools. The last few weeks I have had diarrhea, or miss a day or two of a bowel movement and now I also have had narrower stools in the last week, followed by very loose stools. Also I have been under both physical and emotional stress in the last few weeks. I had blood in my urine, so I had tests for kidney/bladder cancer so the waiting was very hard for me. It turned out that I had a large kidney stone, so a couple of weeks ago I had a lithrotripsy to blast the stone. I also have had a colonoscopy about 3 1/2 years ago and had a polyp removed. Could I have developed cancer in the colon since then? Or could I have something else going on?
I just called my doctor and talked to a nurse. She is going to talk to the doctor (the one who did my last colonoscopy) to see what he thinks. I hope the doctor has some good words to relieve my stress over this. Thanks for your input. I’ll keep you posted.
